Region-free Piñata confirmed
Both Castilian Spanish and French available in the US version
The release date for Viva Piñata is nearly upon us, as is the premise of a region-free playing experience. That’s right, the US version of Viva Piñata has no region protection and can therefore be enjoyed by gamers with European PAL consoles, according to Videogames Plus. But we can also confirm you the full availability of European languages, such as Castilian Spanish or French, in this NTSC version, our American correspondent Mark Mazzei reports. The long-awaited game will be released in Australia on November 29th and in Europe on December 1st.
Although recent rumours claimed that the game would cost 45€ in Europe, the game will actually cost 59.95€ (£39.99 in England) while the Australian version will cost $69.95. As well as a standard version, there will be also be a Special Edition of Viva Piñata available, which can be pre-ordered from Play.com – at a cost of 67.49€ (£44.99). The Special Edition is only available for a limited time and comes with 2 discs, the game disc and a bonus disc containing playable demos and an episode of the cartoon series of the game, made by 4Kids Entertainment. It looks like four years of development (of some kind) will pay off.
