Conker’s at last backwards compatible
All five Rare Xbox titles can now be played on the X360
If you’re one of those people who have still kept Conker Live & Reloaded in hopes that it would eventually be playable on your 360, you’re in luck. Major Nelson announced yesterday on his blog that a December update was in order, enabling you to play more Xbox games, the biggest one here obviously being Conker.
By placing the game in your Xbox 360, you will be asked to do a quick system update, and by doing so, you’ll finally be able to play Conker Live & Reloaded on your 360.
Conker, released in 2005, was an effort on Rare’s part to get the N64 and Game Boy Color star of Bad Fur Day and Pocket Tales known to the Xbox demographic. While the game was widely renowned for its online play, graphics, and sound, many people quickly became disappointed due to the lack of content found in the N64 version, the extra censoring in Microsoft’s part, and the glitchfest that the multiplayer mode turned out to be in the end.
On the other hand, Conker being backwards compatible signifies that every console made Rare game since 2003 can now be played on the Xbox 360.
