PDZ and Conker in 2006 top 20 for Xbox systems
Kameo and Viva Piñata didn't have so much success after all
After monthly NPD sales became confidential information not available for users it has been very difficult to evaluate the level of success of the latest Rare games. In spite of that secrecy, Microsoft’s Major Nelson has unveiled some of the top games of 2006 for both Xbox systems, based on Xbox Live connectivity from January 1st to December 29th; and a couple of Rare titles have made the cut.
Perfect Dark Zero ranks 7th in the “2006 Top Xbox 360 Titles”, above some major hits like Call Of Duty 3, Dead or Alive 4 or Dead Rising. Incredibly, despite being released just a month ago, Gears of War reached first place, with the addictive Arcade Hexic HD at the rear. Call of Duty 2, Ghost Recon 3, Oblivion and Project Gotham Racing 3 are also over PDZ. These charts are based on the number of Gamertags that have played a game, not sales; but they gives us a good overall view of how Rare’s first person shooter did it on Live.
Conker is on 18th place of the original Xbox Top 20; very surprising if we bear in mind that our beloved squirrel couldn’t show his real potential with those great Xbox Live matches, since it didn’t become backwards compatible until a couple of weeks ago. The Xbox #1 is so predictable that you don’t need us to write the title, do you?
