Rare unveils Viva Piñata DS at Comic Con

The game will be a remake with a top-down perspective

comic-con-vpds.jpgComic Con, the place where anything can happen, has been the chosen event to unveil the new Nintendo DS title from Rare. And following the port of Diddy Kong Racing this year, the new DS game coming from Twycross will be… another remake. Viva Piñata will now head to Nintendo’s dual screen handheld.

Apparently, this new version of the original X360 title (and not the Party Animals game by Krome) will feature a new top-down perspective and an improved control scheme. But no more specific details have been leaked to the Net yet, with only a few sites reporting the news with a crappy photo barely showing the new visual style.

Anyway, a couple of Rare members have already commented about the feelings in Rare’s HQ towards this new title: “everyone was really impressed about the quality of it” posted a Rare employee in Piñata Island forums.

Rare will probably update its official site with more info, screenshots an maybe a tentative release date in the following hours. In the meanwhile, you can read the interview with Viva Piñata’s producer, Steve Brand, that we offered this very same weekend.
