Paradises could’ve been connected
Can your lovely hearts handle it? Either way, while this isn’t such a significant loss, it’s still a loss, and still worthy of some sort of heartbreak.
Apparently Viva Piñata: Trouble in Paradise and Viva Piñata: Pocket Paradise could’ve connected to each other through the use of the Xbox Vision Camera. The concept was to have the DS have a card code just like the cards we’ve seen, and the Xbox Vision Camera would’ve done its magic within the game. Alas, it was not to be. What happened?
“We got it to work, but it was too late in the development cycle,” Justin Cook told 1Up, presumably talking about the cycle of the DS game. If only they’d thought of it sooner, he laughed. “It’s one of those things where you just kick yourself.”
Kicking yourself, indeed. Those Rare fans hopeful of a connection similar to what could’ve happened if Rare was with Nintendo during the GameCube days, my heart goes out to you. So there you have it. One more concept that will never see the light of day. Not exactly all sunshine at Rare Fan-Land. But the skies will clear up soon enough.
