Viva Piñata: Trouble in Paradise, coming to Xbox 360
Title to the sequel, officially revealed by Microsoft
If the unveiling of the first screenshots of Banjo-Kazooie 3 wasn’t enough for a single day, today we have also known the new title of the upcoming Viva Piñata sequel for Xbox 360.
The new release, tentatively coming this year according to Rare’s Justin Cook, will be named Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise, which is quite similar to the already confirmed handheld game, entitled Viva Piñata: Pocket Paradise and published by THQ.
The trustworthy info has been leaked (probably by accident) on the very official Microsoft Pro Source website, a repository for press documents, game assets and other stuff that Microsoft offers to us, journalists. The same site already lists new profiles for “Banjo 3” (without a definitive title), Gears of War 2 or Scene It? 2.
But regarding Trouble in Paradise, at this moment there’s really nothing else in the site: the entry for this unannounce game is empty; but it may be filled with some stuff soon, since this week Microsoft is holding the May Showcase in San Francisco (from May 12th to May 15th). Also, we should remember that -apart from Banjo 3- there was other game shown to the press some weeks ago in Twycross, and this new Piñata title has always been our fave candidate to be that second title.
Rumor has it that this new Viva Piñata could feature new game mechanics based on the still-secret ‘Darwin’ controller. In our opinion, that would be enough to justify a sequel to such a recent release (the original Piñata was launched in 2006), adding a innovative twist to the series.
MundoRare will keep you informed about any new details on Trouble in Paradise, so stay tuned!

Great, another Rare game I won’t be playing.
Please Rare, get Perfect Dark 64 on the Xbox Live Arcade.
Comment by The BS Police — 13.May.08 @ 7:15 amIt’s funny, people say that Viva Pinata sucks, but those are the same people who haven’t even played the game.
I personally, can’t wait for Fall to come any faster now, thanks to Nuts & Bolts, Trouble In Paradise, and Pocket Paradise all coming within the season. Cheers to Rare!

A mini-image from “Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts” -yes, that’s the actual title”:
And another from “Viva Piñata: Trouble in Paradise”:
The norwegian site from which they came had these comments -slightly corrected machine translation incoming…-:
“After eight years the amusing bear Banjo returns soon in better shape than ever”
“The sweet animals from Microsoft’s Piñata Park come back in a more focused and accessible game.”
