100 million copies of “Rareware”
With no doubt 100 million more the day KI3 is announced
Rare updated their site last Friday to not gratify fans of Scribes. Or fans of the Tepid Seat. Or hell, even fans of downloading their fantastic music for free. Instead they hit a milestone in their 23 year old career. They’ve sold 100 million copies of their products since 1985. The news article notes that Perfect Dark Zero has sold 1.5 million copies, as Kameo and Viva Piñata are both getting near to the million mark. We must also remember how the first incarnation of Donkey Kong Country on Super Nintendo and GoldenEye 007 for Nintendo 64 sold more than 8 million units each.
As a Rare site, everyone at MundoRare extends a hefty congratulations to those employees that thought it’d be a good idea to include ACM for the DKC series, delay Perfect Dark so it could be all that it could be, release the cult classic known as Grabbed by the Ghoulies with a devil-may-care attitude, and even going so far to satisfy your even most insane fans and Scribes readers by releasing It’s Mr. Pants. Overall, thank you for the memories brought forth by your products, and I think I speak for every supporting Rare fan when I say that we hope all your future games will spark new memories as well.
