Press to pay a visit to Rare’s new pocket-handkerchief garden
Rare's third title for this Fall to be shown in a new private meeting
Sure, it’s not going to be as secretive as the previous time, but once again Rare has summoned some European media for a new gaming showcase behind the scenes. It will be taking place tomorrow, Tuesday June 3rd, at Rare’s HQ.
And which will be the focus of all glances, you wonder? Well, after Nuts & Bolts and Viva Piñata 2, this is the time for no other than the upcoming Kille… er… Viva Piñata Pocket Paradise for Nintendo DS. Sorry.
Although VPPP has already been made official both by Rare and THQ (which was confirmed some weeks ago as publisher for the title), this new private meeting will be a fantastic opportunity to promote the next Twycross-baked DS offering (since THQ don’t seem to care much about Rare’s handheld games in the past, somebody has to do it, right?).
So, expect a new wave of previews, hand-on impressions and probably new interviews with Pocket Paradise producer, Paul Machacek, hitting the Internet soon. Or at least, as soon as the new embargo ends in the near future…
We’ll keep you updated as it develops!

I have a feeling this will be released sooner than we expect. Like, September soon.

Well, SummerSky, Rare probably wanted to promote VPPP apart. If they desired to show ’some other stuff’, they could have done so a month ago with the last press reception, don’t you think?
In fact, they could have also shown VPPP then, but in this way they offer a preferential treatment to the DS team, instead of ‘just’ showing VPPP with the rest of their 2008 games.
“Wonder if the game will have any online features?”
Apparently it won’t. But you’ll be able to ‘trade’ with piñatas with your friends near you by using the Local Wi-Fi connection, and getting unlockables and new items in that way. You can check out Rare’s VPPP page for some extra info, and we’ll also update with our own Pocket Paradise page in the coming days to summarize all the info (With BKNB and VPTiP sections coming soon afterwards as well).

Nice.;)
I thought it was another one for Banjo and VP2 at first. Unless they’re showing them some other stuff they can’t talk about? Surely the press aren’t travelling all that way to test just one DS game?
