Rare to deploy all their Fall offerings on Leipzig’s GC

Banjo's World of Sports now called Jiggoseum!

The german Games Convention of Leipzig has progressively gained relevance as one of the main events of the gaming industry each Summer to the detriment of the dying E3. And despite Rare not likely showing anything new (we cross our fingers for Banjo XBLA), this year Rare will find it the perfect place to deploy all their offerings for this Fall, including updated versions of the recent demos from the American showcases.

Only a few days ago, Rare’s community manager, George Kelion, teased NeoGAF users with some hints about what we can expect regarding Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts: “The build we demo’d to the press at E3 will be playable on the show floor by the public at Leipzig GC. The press will have something extra specially fresh shown to them behind closed doors, which I’m hoping they’ll then report on. I don’t want to spoil their surprise, so you’ll have to wait for the media to get back to you on what we show them.”

Apart from the well-known Banjoland, this time press will manage to get their hands on the formerly known as World of Sports, now much more appropriately called Jiggoseum, in a more advanced build that will more closely resemble the final game (it’s not like the press wasn’t impressed already).

Journalists will also be able to test the new 4 player co-op mode of Viva Piñata only a few days before the worldwide release of Trouble in Paradise. And the 360 Avatars will also be there for sure.

Leipzig’s Game Convention runs next week, August 20-24. Be sure to check back at MundoRare for the usual update avalanche and Piñata pre-release coverage.

I am very happy to hear that the name of the level once known as “World of Sports” has been changed to Jiggoseum. It is much more “Banjoie” :)

Banjo’s world is called Banjoland?

I agree with you, Deltonax. I never liked “World of Sports”, it sounded too generic.

Hudson, “Banjoland” is a Nuts & Bolts level with thousands of references to the original Banjo games. You can read more about it in our recent E3 impressions ;)

It is always embarrassing when a journalist can’t even write the name of the city right.

It is LEIPZIG , not Leizpig , learn your geography, fool.
