Yet another Viva Piñata rumor comes to the limelight

File this under “no chance in hell”

A recent listing on Amazon states that Viva Piñata is coming to the Wii. Not only that, but it’s apparently supposed to be released on November 7th and published by THQ.

Come on, folks. It’s almost been six years since Rare was acquired by Microsoft, and still people are adamant about Rare developing titles for non-Microsoft consoles. I’d say that the chances of this actually being true are the chances of world peace, gas costing less than 2 dollars a gallon, and the economy taking a turn for the best, combined.

Unless Krome Studios is planning an ill-advised release of Party Animals and not announcing it with slightly over two months to go, file a Viva Piñata release on the Wii under “utterly impossible.” Add in “utter bollocks” while you’re at it.

As much fun as that will be, I don’t believe it.

This is VERY plausible.

If it makes ‘em money, then why not? It’s where most of Viva Pinata’s potential audience are.

Something like this would only make more people aware of the franchise, which can only be a good thing for Microsoft. The Xbox 360’s still got its own version(s), so what harm could it do to throw it on the Wii as a temporary measure to increase awareness of the franchise?

It might even be a smaller-scale Wii Ware title.
