Conker Commands and Conquers
Chris Seavor wants a sequel, fans would kill for it
Conker’s Bad Fur Day still stands as a benchmark for quality in Rare’s recent history. Although both Nintendo and Microsoft have put their own obstacles before its release (the Japanese forced a limited European distribution of the N64 original and the Americans censored some sections of the Xbox remake), hardcore gamers always welcomed the irreverent squirrel’s adventure with praise and admiration. Men of taste love Conker. And women probably yearn for him.
No less than 90% of our August readers want him back, according to our latest poll. That’s an awful lot of tasteful gamers. And even though it’s hard to think on any way the original game could be surpassed, none of us can deny that we are craving for a sequel too. Damn, we are talking about the most original, controversial, hilarious, shocking yet scintillating game Rare has ever created.
Quite some time ago, there were some rumours about a second instalment: Conker’s Other Bad Day. We were supposed to follow Conker’s quest for his girlfriend Berri, but this time as the king of all his land. Such a premise would have been easy to come up with, since the Easter egg sequence after the ending credits of Bad Fur Day showed Conker getting wasted once again and walking into the darkness, presumably during the early morning of what was about to become his hundredth hung-over day.
It could have been that. But we wanted to know it for sure. So we asked Chris Seavor what ever happened with Other Bad Day and why the hell is that we are not playing that game if everybody seems to want it. He answered that not only did they start working on a sequel with that title, they also had a full storyline ready to be depicted on the screen and many new movie references in mind: “We actually started on a direct sequel which was going to be called ‘Conker’s Other Bad Day‘ which dealt with Conker’s somewhat unsuccessful tenure as King. He spends all the treasury money on beer, parties and hookers. Thrown into prison, Conker is faced with the prospect of execution and the game starts with his escape, ball and chain attached, from the Castles highest tower.”
Oh man.
If only you knew what other stuff he told us but we can’t type here or tell anybody, anyhow. Let’s say that, any of you who were worried about a disappointing sequel would have shit your pants.
Then why the fuck is this game not in the works or already spinning inside our consoles? Seavor was crystal clear. “If Microsoft asked for another Conker I’d be more than happy to oblige, all things considered.” Wait, what?! Now does that mean that they are not asking for it?
Well, hello, Microsoft people. Here we are. A Rare fansite reviewing the results of a poll about Conker. Let’s see how it went. Oh, it looks like everybody wants a second game. You hear that?
WE WANT CONKER BACK.

Comment by bottles98 — 16.Sep.08 @ 11:40 pmpossibly microsoft doesn’t feel ready for a sequel right now so their waiting til they feel it’s right
Comment by saicambanjo — 17.Sep.08 @ 4:16 amI think it probably has alot to do with Microsofts new ”family friendly” approach to games….which is disheartening I would love to see the sequel made.
Comment by blademaster116 — 17.Sep.08 @ 9:15 amThe fact that Conker’s Other Bad Day was canceled doesn’t mean it was Microsoft who did it. Conker 2 was rumoured back in 2002, and after that Rare developed Conker: Live & Reloaded for Xbox. So clearly Microsoft is not banning Conker from Xbox.
That said, it would be fantastic if -as Seavor says- Microsoft asked for a sequel and we could get that game. But Rare has been quite busy with other AAA titles -such as PDZ, Viva Piñata and BK3- and a Conker game couldn’t have been done by a small or less important team if most of the staff was busy in those important projects.
As any of you, I hope Microsoft now ‘asks’ for it, though ![]()
Oh my god, if you continue this sequel, please keep this story
I want a new Conker, the best game in video game industry :).
hey man, someone needs to seriously get someones attention who can actually do something. All i see are people who know how awesome conker is, but goddamn microsoft are being fucking idiots. Conker live and reloaded SUCKED FUCKING ELEPHANT DICK. Well, the multiplayer anyway
Comment by joe — 23.Sep.08 @ 10:30 ami heard that a nother war begins because of the death of there king.you get to be the soilders and complete missions to defeat the tediz.conker dies and go to gregg the grim reaper to find berri in the underworld. conker comes back with berri and finish the war. after conker goes to jail (like the above)and starts another adventure trying to excape.after his excape, conker gets captured by tediz and you get to the soilders again trying to save conker.the tediz get a call from a group of(new enemies)that are causing a problem with tedizz. conker help the tediz and the soilders team up together. that scene would lead to a nother story and not a part 3

I’m a fucktard, or else I would know if he was insinuating that the stuff they’re not allowed to post here is juicy good stuff or crap. I’m guessing good stuff.
Aw, fuck. Everyone wants a Conker sequel, but no one really gives thought to the Live & Reloaded game. With both Conker versions selling badly, why WOULD MS want a Conker sequel anytime soon?
Still, I know there’s a helluvalot of cults addicted to Conker and are itching for a new game. Ya bastards better buy anything Conker-related if you don’t want Microsoft to can the whole Conker idea, this time for good. Just saying.
Comment by Angela lala — 01.Dec.08 @ 11:15 pmmicrosoft may be waiting for like an moment when their games wont be selling and launch conker like to bring back the clients attention
