Glitches & Secrets in the Nuts & Bolts demo
Visit Showdown Town beyond the demo barrier
Ah, glitches! In gaming history they’ve made possible what seemed impossible. Beating Super Mario 64 in 5 minutes? Easy. Freezing missiles in the air in GoldenEye? A classic. Clonning yourself in the midst of the Third Crusade? You bet.
Yet, this time a glitch in the Nuts & Bolts demo will not only make you have some extra fun, but also will open you the doors to the exploration of the whole hubworld, and let you play the very first level of Klungo’s Arcade.
Our pals from the Rare Witch Project have managed to force a bug in the demo that initially let you go through solid walls, and use it to go outside of the demo barrier to explore the whole Showdown Town map. How it is? Find the detailed explanation in the video below.
Obviously, since you can’t get more than 6 jiggies (there are 2 secret ones that can be collected in Showdown Town), there’s no way to open other worlds. But you can still talk with King Jingaling in his new spot; don’t try to enter the Bingo game or chat with Boggy, though, or the demo will crash. Additionally, you can pay a visit to Klungo in the pier, who will let you play the very first level of the best platformer ever made: “Hero Klungo Sssavesss teh World!”
[Possible spoilers] And while the spot for the Ice Key is clearly shown by Bottles in the demo, thanks to the glitch you can also find markers for all the six Stop ‘n’ Swop eggs hidden in the most remote areas of Showdown Town.
