See yourself in a new furry light
Rare’s next XBLA title revealed
The Xbox Live Arcade has a weird way Rare-wise in letting us know about games before they actually exist. First Jetpac Refuelled, and now this title, which takes the cake as the oddest Rare game ever titled.
The Fast & the Furriest will be the first Rare title to implement the Xbox Live Vision Camera with the basis of using Rare’s own IP characters in mini-games ranging from bungee runs to tip-tup (not the beloved turtle, sadly) curling. Think Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games meets Rare characters meets your face.
That’s right, your face. See, the actual characters won’t be in the game. Instead, according to the the website Xbox 360 Fanboy, they’re actually “suits” of the characters. You scan your face using the camera (provided you have one, as it’s not necessary to play the actual games) as it fills in the hole in the suit with your lovely visage. Additionally, Rare will possibly include extra content such as croquet, volleyball, etc.
The article’s very quick to note that while it is in development and heading for the XBLA, the game can change dramatically before release (no surprise there) and may not even get past the “development cycle.” Hopefully that won’t be the case, as MundoRare anticipates seeing our faces on piñatas and Mr. Pants characters with bated breath, and will report on such with what we get.
