LOG’s Lost Challenges revealed as early “as next week”
Rare’s website teases us for what’s to come
By now, if you’ve played and enjoyed Nuts & Bolts, you’ve probably gotten all 1,000 Gamerpoints. You’ve built all you’ve wanted to build, as well as doing those obligatory naughty vehicles that may or may not include innuendos in word form. You’ve probably moved on. Yet LOG hasn’t, as evidenced by Rare’s recent update in the form of a tease of the upcoming LOG’s Lost Challenges.
Yes, despite the fact that Nuts & Bolts hasn’t been selling well (in America, at least), Microsoft and Rare still feel there’s enough to merit… something. Straight from the Lord of Games himself, “if all goes well, you’ll soon be able to experience a little something that I devised during a spare moment in exile from the Palace lounge as the Lady of Games watched some kind of dreadful house renovation show marathon. I have to say I’m quite pleased with the end result, apart from the section that Klungo insisted on contributing due to what he claimed was ‘popular demand’. Well, that remains to be seen. I’ve even topped it off with a promotional logo to keep you interested, as I’m told it’s all about the logos and PR and vertical marketing these days.”

From Scribes, Banjo-Kazooie.com’s Developer Diaries, and even the game itself, it’s known that there were quite a few things cut from the game in order to meet its release, such as the Wild West world and the “Don’t Take Your Kids To Work Day” mission. Whether LOG’s Lost Challenges will have any of them is unknown; after all, this is only a tease, and we all know how much Rare loves to do that. Hopefully the Klungo mention will be Klungo Saves Teh (sic) Universe, or if Rare’s really mean, a graphically inferior KI3. After all, it is popularly demanded for.
The end of Rare’s news article states that we’ll know “as soon as next week” what LOG’s on about, but until then, feel free to speculate just what awaits us soon.

The game isn’t selling well? I guess we won’t be getting that “garage expansion” Mumbo promised.
Comment by Hamilton — 07.Mar.09 @ 11:30 pmwell the game is actually doing somewhat well, it’s not very poor considering how many were thinking it would get much less sales. hope it’s great content
Comment by saicambanjo — 08.Mar.09 @ 1:58 amI love it
Comment by BanjoBoy123 — 08.Mar.09 @ 6:12 amI don’t think ‘doing somewhat well’ is a good way to describe the games sales performance.
Go in your mygamercard profile, and compare the number of total users that have N&B with any other game in your list, it’s sad but, at least compared with my games, N&B is by far one of the games with less users.
Comment by Àlarik — 08.Mar.09 @ 9:45 pmsomewhat well doesn’t mean great, it just means that compared to what the haters were predicting it actually did better. It’s still has far better sales then vp:tip and other worse games. besides by the looks of it sales can get better soon.
Comment by saicambanjo — 09.Mar.09 @ 3:40 ambottom line, i dont know if i want to pay extra for something that i feel should have been included in the first place (like the polar kids)
Comment by billy — 10.Mar.09 @ 5:32 amit should of been but couldn’t for time reasons, besides what makes you so sure you’ll have to pay for it all?
Comment by saicambanjo — 10.Mar.09 @ 6:26 ambecause saicom, what alarik said… what is there that’s free on live except for preview videos? haha so most likely this isn’t going to be a give away. you could be right, but probably not
Comment by billy — 10.Mar.09 @ 4:38 pmI mean they’ll probably have some of the new content for free and the better content for pay. you know like just minor things. either way I’m still getting this
Comment by saicambanjo — 10.Mar.09 @ 10:33 pmill get it too if it’s free.. or if it’s REALLY good and worth some cash
Comment by billy — 10.Mar.09 @ 10:48 pmso it’s been a week. where’s our info. ugh. rare.
Comment by billy — 13.Mar.09 @ 5:59 pmWell, Rare amended the original article and now, instead of “as soon as next week”, just says “soon TM”. Here’s the new version:
“Expect more info to be out there soon (following a minor technical delay caused by Grunty’s gremlins dropping a spanner into the works)”
Comment by xmooth — 13.Mar.09 @ 6:52 pmaww man

hmm interesting… i hope the polar kids get their come back! and whats kind of funny- in the UK the game got bad ratings.. but is selling well? but in the USA it got relatively good ratings… but isn’t selling. i wonder what they’ll do next…if there’ll be a sequel and in what form…….
