Rare’s Games on Demand titles range between $20-$30/29.99€
You’re probably better off buying them in stores
Some days ago, the 360 had a mandatory dashboard update. While it wasn’t the one that many were expecting (mainly, Facebook, Twitter, and Last.fm implementation), you can finally buy clothes for your Avatar! That is, if you’ve been dying to make it look cool in The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition clothing as opposed to a Halo vehicle remote-control… thing.
Anyway, Games on Demand is also one of those services. As reported earlier, we promised that we’d follow up on the prices. In the US, everything except VP: Trouble in Paradise is 1600 MS Points (or 20 dollars); Trouble in Paradise is 2400 (or 30 dollars). As the blurb up top describes, all of the games are apparently over 29.99 Euros (which is nearly 42.50 Dollars…).
I know this doesn’t really need to be said, but really, unless there’s no other way to get them online or in retail stores, you’re better off getting them somewhere else. Unless you have a specific dislike towards CDs, box cases and manuals, that is. As it stands, Ghoulies is the only Rare game that really needs the support. Even if we’ll never see the open-world setting of Ghoulies II.
