Official media of Banjo and Avatars in Sonic & Sega Racing
Full trailer now available on the Xbox Live Marketplace
Just a mere few hours after the leak of a tiny version of the definitive box arts for Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing, both Rare and Sega have “properly” confirmed the authenticity of them.
Probably, that was something that was planned to happen one of these days anyway, and perhaps Sega just spilled the beans just before the definitive date; but, still, the quick answer -confirming the story and taking advantage of the initial rumour, rather than trying to remove any trace of it from Internet- is a smart move that does them credit for once.
Anyway, the confirmation came along with a bunch of screenshots, a hi-def version of the box art, an official trailer highly focused on the Banjo incursion (which is also available for download from the Xbox Live Marketplace), and also the announcement of a “second Rare connection”: the Xbox Avatars will also be playable on the 360 version “and can take part in races by jumping into the ‘Avacar’”.

So, there you have it. Love it or hate it, since it seems there is no happy medium.

Comment by Hudson — 18.Dec.09 @ 4:54 amhaha this is crazy, they should put conker in there too
Comment by harry — 18.Dec.09 @ 9:32 pm@harry: Nah, I’m sure if they did that they’d have to change the game name to Rare vs. Sega All Stars Racing lol. Plus since Conker isn’t quite the best “role model” for kiddies I’m sure Microsoft wouldn’t allow it. There’s a little stupid green seal on the box that says something about it being Family Friendly or whatever and we all know Conker is the HUGE OPPOSITE of Family Friendly.
Comment by Hudson — 18.Dec.09 @ 11:34 pm@harry, Conker was in Diddy Kong Racing though just like Banjo was, so it wouldn’t be too bad.
Comment by John Jackson — 03.Jan.10 @ 2:48 amOkay this is more than I can bare…Rare needs to be back at nintendo period.

nintendo didnt want them, they let them go which is why xbox took them up. plus it doesnt really matter who their working for… rare wants to voluntairly do things different now, so the company they work for really has nothing to do with it… its rare. the only thing ms is asking of them now is to make kid friendly games and natal games more recently… so conker will prob never happen
