I don’t believe it!!!!! They cancelled all those good games for this?

I’ve lost all hope. Any developer can do this type of game. Why waste Rare’s resources. Thats it for me. I defended Rare for long enough. MS has canned everything.

This is beyond shit. cant believe the once great rare are relegated to this. MS can go fuck themselves.

Oh and as soon as Natal was announced that my worst fear was Rare being whored out to make Natal sports. I guess those fears were well founded.

*Sigh* Well in order to keep hope alive I’ll assume this is just a test for them to see how the failure “Kinect” is going to work. Surely Rare hasn’t sunk this low and will only stick to games like this. And besides, we shouldn’t hate them. We should focus our attention on the wankers they work for, Microsoft. They’re the ones that caused Rare to drop PD2 and Kameo 2 to work on shite like this. They’re the ones causing Rare to leave behind their old IPs. Rare needs to find a better parent company or else they’re heading for a huge downfall. I would say Sony is the best choice at the moment because they allow creativity and can offer Rare so much more than Wankersoft and Nintendo. Thing is, Sony has to be willing to accept them and seeing how busy they are at the moment it might be hard to convince them.

I think we’re all forgetting they worked best with Nintendo, they suck for MS and will suck if they work for sony. Sony has the “If it is broke, im gonna fix it” approach.they both specialize in FPS, nothing else, and Rare is more platforming company than anything else.

Sony is a better approach for them than MS at this point and FPS is not all they specialize in. They both make platoforming games (Banjo-Kazooie, Jak & Daxter) as well. I see Rare doing a much better job with Sony than anyone else. If Sony could make a game like Uncharted 2 for PS3 imagine what Rare could do. With 360 there are so many graphical limitations and games like Uncharted 2 couldn’t possibly work on a system like 360 and knowing how Rare likes to go one step beyond I could see them producing some incredible stuff.

wow. worst. fear. realized. ever. i’ve kept my hopes up for rare for a long time now… i’m pretty sure im jumping ship at this point. i am definitely NOT buying kinect, thats for sure. so most likely i will never support rare again if theyre only working for kinect. i just feel bad for mundorare here, idolizing such a shitty (as of now-a-days) company… they have fallen FAR from the top.

All I wanted was Conker 2 but instead Rare gives us a shitty Natal game called Kinect. If I saw a shooting star I would wish for a new conker game to happen right now!!!

Well don’t give up just yet boys (though I’m certainly not impressed). They might suprise us. Think about it. Why have Kameo, a game maybe 5 years old, at E3? Could that lead up to the anticipated sequel? And besides Rare’s not at fault here. It’s all Wankersoft. Rare’s just forced to work with them.

Rare’s going to bounce back. I know it. I just do. This game is just another test to see how people will react like with Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts. I have a feeling after these titles Rare’s going to come back with something even better. What they really need to do is just join another company. Nintendo’s obviously obsolete so Sony is the last choice and I know they can offer Rare so much more. They’ll give Rare more creative space and won’t shove other projects in their face. They’ll enjoy Conker when they see how great he is and won’t “ban” him from making appearances. And (even though it will sound COMPLETELY impossible) if they could gain the rights to Donkey Kong, they would once again be on top with traditional platform game and maybe more. Rare’s main downfall is Microsoft. Microsoft was barely a game company to begin with and Rare was with the top video game company for that generation so of course they were popular and at the top of their game. With Microsoft, they’re waaaaay behind their competition because now they have to work harder to produce quality games for all ages. So what’s the best way to gain a bigger audience? Shitty motion based family games! Like I said before. Only a test. Once Rare realizes this is a very bad idea, they’ll HOPEFULLY come to thir senses and go back to the old way of making games.

Yes! That’s exactly why because Microsoft has had them working on it for 6 years! 6 FECKING YEARS!!! Rare’s not at fault here and that’s what you and several others fail to realize. I know Rare and I know this is not the game they want to create. They wanted to create PD2, Kameo 2, & Conker 2, but Microsoft didn’t want that. They wanted them to appeal to family gamers and appearently family gamers only in order for Microsoft to gain more publicity to casual gamers. Microsoft’s just using Rare for their own gain. Rare is not happy there. I’m sure they’ve heard of Sony, but has Sony heard of them? That’s what I’ve been missing this entire time. Rare may know Sony, but Sony may not know Rare. I’m sure if Sony got to know Rare, how they do things, and their current positions (*coughslavescough*) they’d be more than happy to help them out. My main concern is with how busy Sony is and I KNOW they’re busy especially with projects like Playstation Move and LittleBigPlanet 2, but Rare could help out with those projects while working on their own. What I mean by that is, Rare could make TRADITIONAL games that incorporate Playstation Move and perhaps special packs for LBP 2. All Rare has to do is join Sony and I’m pretty sure they’d love to since Kinect is finally finished so they can leave Microsoft and Sony has to get to know Rare to see if they’re good enough to jon them (which they are). One more thing, just finished watching demos of Kinect sports….WHY MICROSOFT!!!!! WHY DO YOU HATE RARE YOU GREEDY, SHIT-HEADED, GINGER, TWAT PLUGGING BASTARDS!!! FUCK YOU!!!

Sony should join Rare so we would have a happy decade becuase the 2000’s were terrible becuase of microsoft game studios and it is the 2010’s.

I often wondered where all this talk of Microsoft ruining Rare came from. But after hearing about their “restructure” and all those cancelled games it was obvious.

Microsoft had cancelled the games and had Rare working on other stuff. It wouldn’t even suprise me if they had Rare change Banjo’s style for Nuts and bolts.

Microsoft just ADMIT you failed by buying Rare. Why would you cancel their games otherwise? Rare are not making money for you or your xbox. Accept that and sell them back to where they belong. It is not because they don’t sell today.

Its the audience you’ve gathered. They don’t play these games and if they swallow your rubbish on Kinect then I’ll be shocked. Let Rare go while they still have respect.

6 YEARS?! That is the ONLY reason why every Rare sequel was canned.

Rare is dead. They canceled Killer Instinct 3, Perfect Dark 2, Conker 2, Kameo 2. These were really good game’s, but instead, They wanted to work on a shitty clone game like this? It’s Rare fault not Microsoft. They decide if they want to finish it or not. Not Microsoft. They choose not to Make KI3, PD2, Conker BFD2. They choose to create new games. It’s fine, but not shitty games like these. They created shitty game like Banjo & Viva Pinata? Banjo is a clone from Donkey Kong. Ok yes, I enjoyed Banjo 1 & 2 but not Nuts & Bolts. Viva Pinata is a fucked up game. I can’t believe Rare spent two years making this game shame on Rare. I’m surprised no KI3 or PD2 or Conker or Kameo. Just I give up on rare. I don’t care if anyone disagrees with me. We might see Rare bounce back in 2015. But until then, their dead.

Really? You call Banjo a clone of Donkey Kong when the two barely have anything in common? I suppose you’re talking about Donkey Kong 64, but that came out after Banjo-Kazooie. Viva Pinata is a game that takes patience and understanding in order to master it which you and several others obviously lack. Same goes for the FOURTH game. Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty’s Revenge was the third game. Rare did want to make all of those games, but IT WAS Microsoft’s fault they got canceled. Even Chris Seavor said they won’t make a Conker sequel unless Microsoft asks for one. So clearly the real masterminds behind this operation is Microsoft. They appearently have gained the right to tell Rare what to do, when to do it, and how to do it. Daft bastards. So really Rare is not at fault here. It’s those numbskulls they work for.

Really, Banjo Came after Donkey Kong Country 3. Didn’t you just hear Rare stated in a Interview That their not going back to creating their old IP’s??? Rare is dead. You’ve been saying that for a year now “It’s Microsoft fault” No the hell it isn’t. RARE decides not to make these games. They rather tease than make the games.

Banjo-Kazooie is a full 3-D platformer. The DKC series consists of 3-D side scrollers. They have nothing in common. And when they said they’re not going back to their old IPs they didn’t specifically say which ones. They could have been talking about Sabre Wulf, Blast Corps and Jet Force Gemini or other single games. We can’t assume things until they give us the full details (which is highly unlikely). Yes Rare does decide to make the games, but who cancels them? Wankersoft of course. It is their fault. They bought Rare, have total rights to them, so they can choose what games they want to be released and want games they don’t want to be released. In other words, a slave drivin company. Rare has always teased us with cliffhangers and mentions of sequels. It’s their funny way of doing things.

Those are only a few examples. One mention that actually came true was the end of Banjo-Kazooie when they were talking about being in another game. Another that came true was the end of Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts when L.O.G said they may never appear in another game again. Two years later, 360 version of Sonic and SEGA All-Stars Racing was released. Rare does want to release those games, but like Chris Seavor said, Microsoft won’t allow them unless they ask for them.

its not the fact my favourite game company has become the lacky of its owner and not the revolutionary it use to be, or the fact it has changed its logo, or the fact its targeted a shallow a thickle audience with a game that has the depth of a tea bag. Its the fact it has shamelessy ripped off a pre exsisting Ip with absolutely no attempt of pretending otherwise that really annoys me… lets hope Rare are working on something, ANYthing else other than just kinect games from now on.

I do agree they have been making quite a few casual games lately. Perhaps they’re trying to reach that audience first then get them hooked on to more hardcore games? I am 15 but I’m turning 16 in September.

This reminds me of my first arguement with a person who had that very similar logo of Pain’s. No 1994 cain I do not hate Pain. I don’t hate anybody here. If there’s anybody I hate at this moment it’s you know who. I’ve said it for quite a while. But really now this arguing gets us no where. I learned from my experience. People are entitled to their own beliefs and no one can change them. I believe we should get a uncensored, unchanged version of Conker’s Bad Fur Day on XBLA and that’s where my first arguement sparked because someone insulted me for having that opinion. Well it’s my opinion. I want another remake, but the sequel should come first. Live and Reloaded was not very true to the original. What stung me the most was the butchered multiplayer mode. I was really hoping to play Heist and Raptor. That was my opinion and people bashed me for it. Not everyone’s going to agree with you, but insulting them just makes things worse.

What other game doubles as a platformer and a war simulation? Maybe Ratchet & Clank, but we’re talking about Rare here. So anybody who “hates” Conker hates games and Rare together.

And besides. Banjo & Kazooie didn’t have another game for the same amount of time and 2008 gave us Nuts & Bolts. Not the adventure we were all expecting, but still a great game.

@Hamilton Banjo Kazooie Nuts & Bolts was kind of a disappointment… not the Banjo I was looking for. But other than that it still had good game play and good graphics/texture within the game itself which made it very unique in many ways. Storyline and vehicle craft was something new….but Banjo is still a good game just nuts & bolts was something different.

Live & Reloaded just didn’t feel very true to the original and bottom line, Rare will return. Good day.

goldeneye went head to head with id software when quake 2
